Structural Engineering Internship in India: Real Intern Experiences from SSC Batch 1
At S-Struct Consultants, we saw a clear gap in how structural engineering is taught and how it is actually practiced on site and in design offices. Most students graduate with strong theoretical knowledge, but very little exposure to real-world engineering.
This is where the SSC Professional Internship Program began. It is a structured, hands-on initiative designed to help civil and structural engineering students bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice. Instead of focusing only on lectures, the program is built around practical understanding, real project thinking, and professional development. Batch 1 of the program brought together a group of driven students who wanted more than just classroom learning. Over the duration of the internship, they were exposed to how structural engineering works in real scenarios, from understanding load paths to reading drawings and thinking through design decisions. More importantly, they began to shift their mindset from students to engineers.
